Hark! The Herald Angels Sing

This time of year I post Christmas songs  leading up to Christmas day. While I am agnostic and do not hold true to any one religion, I always pick at least one “religious” song or video expressing the meaning of Christmas.

AND CONTRARY TO WHAT MANY WOULD HAVE YOU FORGET, CHRISTMAS IS A RELIGIOUS HOLIDAY!

Here is a beautiful rendition of Hark! The Herald Angels Sing performed by Charlotte Church.

I even provided lyrics so you can sing along just like in church.

At least, I think it’s just like in church.

I don’t know.

Every time I show up to church it’s starts to lightening and thunder.

I’ve always taken it as a sign.

Enjoy!

Hark! The herald the angels sing
Glory to the new born king
Peace on earth and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled

Joyful, all ye nations rise
Join the triumph of the skies
With the angelic host proclaim
Christ is born in Bethlehem

Hark! The herald angels sing
Glory to the new born king

Christ, by highest heaven adored
Christ, the everlasting Lord
Late in time behold Him come
Offspring of a virgin’s womb

Veiled in flesh the Godhead see
Hail the incarnate Deity
Pleased as Man with man to dwell
Jesus, our Immanuel

Hark! The herald angels sing
Glory to the new born king

Hail, the heavenly Prince of peace
Hail, the Son of righteousness
Light and life to all he brings
Risen with healing in His wings

Mild He leaves His throne on high
Born that man no more may die
Born to raise the sons of earth
Born to give them second birth

Hark! The herald angels sing
Glory to the new born king

Come, desire of nations, come
Fix in us Thy humble home
Oh, to all Thyself impart
Formed in each believing heart

Hark! The herald angels sing
Glory to the new born king
Peace on earth and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled

Hark! The herald angels sing
Glory to the new born king
