America ranks 21st in personal freedom

The Legatum Institute Foundation released its sixth edition of their prosperity index and America ranks 21st. The index measures six principles of prosperity: opportunity, education, health, freedom, safety, and social values. Each report is based on data from the previous year. The report released this year is based on data from 2013. In 2009, based on data from 2008, America ranked 9th.

We all remember how bad things were in 2008, the final year of the Bush Administration. Under the leadership of President Obama, have fallen 12 spots.

Personal_Freedom_RankingsLet’s all sing it to gather; “O’er the land of the almost free and the home of the brave.”

If even the country of Costa Rica, Uruguay, Malta and France are ahead of the United States in having more personal freedom, then I have to question the way this list was established. Maybe the same group that put together the charts and graphs showing that it is the people of earth that are causing global warming put this one together also?
