#ThrowbackThursday Jon Schmidt: “Pachelbel Meets U2” or let’s take five minutes and escape this crazy world

This time of year is usually referred to as the lazy days of summer. Normally, this time of year is a slow news cycle. This year however, it seems like the world is on the brink. From the unrest in the Ukraine, the war in Gaza, the horrific execution of James Wright Foley, the calamity and racial strife in Ferguson Missouri, and the shocking suicide of one of the funniest comedians in history, Robin Williams, it’s hard to make sense of it all.

Even the most news oblivious individual can sense the tension.

Add the world tensions to our own personal daily turbulences it becomes extremely important for all of us to learn how to temporarily turn it all off and relax.

This song was released in 2004, not a long throwback but this song always has a calming effect on me. It takes one of my favorite classical pieces and “mashes” it with a song from one of my all time favorite rock bands, U2.

Let’s take five minute to forget everything stressful and just escape this crazy world.
