The last day of CPAC is always a short day. Here is the schedule:

To me, yesterday’s star was Governor Rick Perry.
I know. I know.
There are many who were impressed with Senator Rand Paul’s speech and he is the favorite to win today’s straw poll, but I don’t think it was one of his better speeches. Since both Perry and Paul sucked up most of the oxygen in the room, I would like to point to a speech that did not get much attention. That speech was by Texas Senator John Cornyn. He had the misfortune of following Governor Perry and having just defeated a tea party attempt to oust him his reception was, in my mind, questionable. He was received well; highlighting that the division in the party may not be as wide as the media would have the public believe.
He is not know for his oratory skills but the Senator did an excellent job spotlighting the lack of accountability by the Obama Administration and the crowd helped him:
