As you can see I’m starting off the new year with a brand new look.
Unless, of course, this is your first visit to my little domain.
2014 is going to be a volatile and pivotal political year. This is the Republicans best and, for quite sometime, last chance to gain control of the Senate. The current split is a 55-45 majority for the Democrats. Simple math tell us the Republicans need to pick up 6 seats to gain the majority they lost in 2006. Today, I’m not going to do a complete breakdown of the individual races we need to watch this year. I’ll save that for future posts.
Hey! It’s New Years Day, I’m not going to tax your a brain cells today with any deep analysis. A general breakdown shows that the Democrats have 21 seats up for re-election with only 9 seats considered safe. The Republicans have only 14 seat up for re-election with 12 seats considered safe.
As you cans see, The goal of retaking control of the senate is well within the grasp of the GOP. If…….
Like I said, today is not the day to delve.
My goal this year is to do whatever small thing I can do to help remove the Democrats from the Senate majority this year while keeping the GOP majority in the House.
Of course, along the way, I will continue to find the humor in just about everything and choose laughter above anger and despair.
HAPPY NEW YEAR! HERE’S TO AN INTERESTING AND REWARDING 2014
