6 is a significant number

Yesterday, it was reported six people signed up for Obamacare on launch day.

You’re reading it correctly. While the government claims Healthcare.gov had 4.7 million unique visitors during it’s first day in operation, only six individuals enrolled.

Things improved on day two.

At the end the second day, enrollment increased to 248.

When I saw the number six, I remembered there was something significant about that number.

No, I’m not thinking of the seductress cylon from Battlestar Galactica:

What was I talking about?

Oh, right the number six.

It’s, uh

What was it again..

Oh… yea .. that’s right significant.

Many in my age group grew up watching Saturday morning cartoons. Some of my favorite were the vignettes produced by Schoolhouse Rock. This one is from 1973 and it features, for the first time in the series, a black main character.

I told you it was significant.

Only this time, not in a good way.

  1. Pete says:

If you divide the cost of setting up the obama-care web site by the six people signed up that first day it is a good example of ‘typical’ government spending on start up projects.
