September 11

Tribute in Light

This year I am having a very difficult time deciding how to pay tribute to that tragic day 12 years ago. While my anger over the cowardly attack has dissipated, this year I find myself filled with an anger and sadness rivaling the feelings following September 11, 2001.

This time my anger is directed towards my own government. A year has passed and we still do not know the truth about the events in Benghazi.

Why did four people die?

Why is it no one has been held accountable for the death of our ambassador, Christopher Stevens?

I do not need to remember September 11. Everyday when I stare and see the New Freedom Tower, I still see the Twin Towers.

On fire.

I still remember the view four days after the attack.

MANHATTAN

Nope. Like many around here, I do not need to be reminded.

By extension my thoughts dwell on those who were butchered in Benghazi and I think:

This is not a day that should be dictated by anger.  These horrific events were orchestrated from the depths of anger.

As I say on my about page, I tend to choose laughter over anger and sorrow. I also recognize that sometimes tears are the only response. In honor to all those killed on September 11 and those who are most affected by their loss, I think I found a proper tribute:
