Mitch McConnell: Either we tackle our nation’s spending problem or it’s going to tackle us. It’s that simple.

Okay, I hear you out there.

“What’s the deal, Bret, you got the love for McConnell.”

No, I don’t and most likely never will.

BUT!

I have grown tired of people saying that the Republicans are not articulating their point of view. They have, they are and I suspect they will continue to do so. The problem is people are not listening to what is actually being said, only what the media interprets them as saying. The public gets easily distracted by grandstanding from politicians like my Governor, Chris Christie, with his anti-congress rant. Contrary to his antics people are not suffering because of the delay in the passing of the pork-filled Sandy relief package.

With the battle for the debt ceiling on the horizon, it is time to listen to what is being said not just what the gate keepers of the media wishes us to hear. Take the time to listen to the Senate Minority leader’s opening floor speech of the 113th Congress.

  1. Excellent point about Christie, Bret.

Plus, I really liked this MCConnell clip.
Still trying to figure out a way to fit it into a post over at our place….
