Two weeks later: a vote breakdown and a politcal disappointment

The election was two weeks ago today.

In case you didn’t know President Obama was re-elected. In spite of the fact that exit polls showed  77 percent of voters said the economy was bad, and only 25 percent said they were better off than four years ago, and six in ten claimed the economy was the most important issue, the President easily won re-election two weeks ago.

Yes, in spite of the fact that recent graduates have a 50 percent unemployment rate Obama won the 18-29 year olds 60%-37%.  The President won the woman’s vote by 11 points and the unmarried women by 36. He received 93% of the African-American vote and 71% of the Latino vote. Of those making under $50,000 a year, he won 60% to 38%.

If those stats are not depressing enough, according to Pew Research 49% of those between the ages of 18-29 have a positive few of socialism, while only 46% feel that way about capitalism.

Okay now that I dumped all those hard cold numbers on you I know you are feeling down but I’ll bet you are not feeling as low as this little guy:

.
Okay, maybe you are.
