The President over the week-end asked for more money, again. He wants another $50 billion in what he calls stimulus money to help out state and local municipalities. In February 2009, President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The contents of this act cost approximately $787 billion . Now, the President says he wants $50 billion more. I do not care about the reasoning for the desired funds. What I care about is we have not even come close to spending all the funds in the original $787 billion.
You know, my dog always wanted more food . It did not matter how much I fed her she wanted more. One day, I decided to see how much she would eat if I let her. So, she ate and ate. AND ate. She was happy, but eventually I ran out of food. Later, when I returned from the store, I was greeted by the biggest mess, I, to this day, can still smell. During the moment, it was fun feeding her. The repercussions, however, lasted far longer than the moment and were not worth the brief instant of joy. Get the point!
